Everybody needs to have their "local" - that special place, just around the corner, that you can always rely on for cold drinks and a great meal. For us, when we're in Avon, that place is Finnegan's Wake.
Finnegan's Wake is at its heart a traditional Irish Pub. Outfitted with dark woods and Gaelic stylings, Finnegan's feels like a small bit of Ireland in the middle of Colorado. The large bar features the best ales and stouts of the British Isles on tap. The menu reads like an Irish Cuisine Greatest Hits list: fish and chips, Irish stew, boxties, bangers and mash. If you are in the mood for something a little less Irish, Finnegan's features traditional American hamburgers and sandwiches. We've never had a bad meal at Finnegan's and with their generous portions, we've never left hungry.
More than just and Irish Pub, Finnegan's also features a large upstairs sports bar with several TVs for catching a game as well as pool tables and dart boards. In the Summer, nothing beats dining on Finnegan's large outdoor patio. The good life is sitting on Finnegan's patio, enjoying a Guinness on a warm summer night watching twilight fall on the mountains.
Finnegan's hosts live music on the weekends - outdoors on the patio on the summer, and inside the bar for Après Ski in the winter.
